MICB: The institute is dedicated to fundamental research in biology and its relation to health, with a primary emphasis on cancer and blood disorders. Scientists study such challenging problems as the molecular origins of cancer, the regulation of gene activity, control of cell movement, programmed cell death and the biochemical action of cancer chemotherapeutics.
