Workshop: Basics of Tumour Banking"

The first CTRNet Training Workshop on the "Basics of Tumour Banking and Biospecimen Quality Control and Analysis" will be held on Sept 8-10th. Space is limited to 25 participants with priority given to students and research trainees. MICB Annual Retreat - Sept 20-21

The annual MICB retreat will be held at the Qualico Family Centre in Assiniboine Park on Sept 20-21 The theme is "Personalized Medicine". Dr Jordi Barretina (Pharama, Boston) and Dr Kapil Bhalla (Kansas Cancer Center) are the keynote speakers.

Workshop: "Microscopy, Optics and Imaging"

The next IMHRT training workshop for "Microscopy, Optics and Imaging" will be held on November 5-9, 2012. To register, please submit your CV and a short summary of why you are interested in this course to Dr Sabine Mai. Participants will be selected based on expressed training needs. Space is limited. No application will be accepted after September 30, 2012

Simon and Sarah Israels Graduate Thesis Prize

All graduate students who have successful completed either their MSc or PhD between Sept/11 - Aug/12 and were supervised by an MICB Senior Scientist or Research Affiliate Scientist are eligible to compete for the Simon and Sarah Israels Graduate Thesis Prize. Please submit an unbound copy of your thesis to Cecile Verrier before August 31st for consideration. The award is worth $2000 for the best thesis of the year.
