SOMAscan employs Somamers (Slow Off-rate Modified aptamers) in a pool for simultaneous relative quantitation of 1310 protein analytes from a single 65μL sample. SomaLogic is useful for sequential analysis of patient derived materials including plasma, serum, cell and tissue lysates and supernatants. Potential assay applications include biomarker identification, predicting response to therapy, interrogation of basic biological processes in vitro and vivo.

Dr Wayne Xu, Bioinformatician, will explain the steps involved in data analysis from the NGS platform for ChIP-Seq, RNA-Seq and chromatin fractionation. He will demonstrate how raw sequence data is processed into manuscript quality figures and how to access the ENCODE (epigenetics) data.

Bio-Rad recently launched CFX Manager Software Version 3.0. We will spend about one hour reviewing the improvements and enhancements.
11am - 12 pm Advanced Data Analysis using Gene Study in CFX Manager
CFX Manager's Gene Study option allows researchers to analyze data from many plate runs. We will be using actual data files from experiments that were conducted by collaborators in Ontario.
